Brgy. Coloong II, Valenzuela MM.
After almost three years in the pipeline, the San Diego Restoration Village at Brgy. Coloong II, Valenzuela, Metro Manila, had its groundbreaking last Dec. 27, 2009.

The idea of a village for the poor & homeless members of the CFCFFL Chapter at San Diego de Alcala Parish of Valenzuela started in 2007 when its members began monthly savings to buy a lot to be developed collectively with the help generous donors. In 2008, with enough savings, the chapter was able to negotiate for a vacant 2,000 sqm lot. The area was subdivided into 65 lots for the equivalent number of beneficiary families. The cornerstone of the first house was laid during the groundbreaking.

The groundbreaking ceremonies were started with a prayer and blessing of the site by Fr.Vince Reyes, Asst. Parish priest of San Diego de Alcala. Part of the ceremonies was the blessing of a brick making machine which will be used to provide the building blocks for its shelter program.

At the ceremonies, children of member beneficiaries were given Christmas gifts courtesy of the Globalland Company., a property management company of the Villar group. Not to be outgiven, their parents were given a pack of relief goods each courtesy of the Kapisanan Philippine Center for Arts & Culture of Toronto Canada. The group donated balikbayan boxes full of relief goods for those affected by the recent typhoons. The RV site and its adjacent areas were the beneficiaries are currently living were flooded during the typhoons.
