Three families were awarded their own houses at the Mother Of Mercy Restoration Village (MOMRV) at Bayanbayanan, Brgy. San Vicente, San Pedro, Laguna. The occasion was the house blessing and turnover ceremonies last Feb. 20, 2010.
At the blessing rites, Fr, Justin Sequerra emphasized that the new homeowners should leave behind, in their old residences, their bad habits and start anew a life with the Lord at the RV. The three families were the initial batch from 120 families, to be relocated to the formerly vacant 6,800 sqm.lot donated by Dra. Mercedes Oliver. The list includes poor CFCFFL members in the area and beneficiary families of the Religious of the Virgin Mary Immaculate sisters. The sisters are running a school nearby.
The turnover ceremonies came more than a year after the CFCFFL Laguna WWP Team under Bros. Ben Faller and Larry Tuazon started community organizing, conducted values formation, and a Christian Life Seminar at the area. The CFCFFL chapter of the Most Holy Name of Jesus parish were able to evangelize 26 beneficiaries in the CLS near the site last June 2009. The WWP & Phil. Bible Society staff were able to distribute bibles to CLS graduates at that time.
The houses were put up through the efforts Bros. Ricky Celino, George Dee and other members of the CFCFFL Laguna District Core Team who were present during the ceremonies. San Pedro Mayor Manny Cataquiz and Brgy Capt. Norvic Solidum also graced the occasion.
The new homeowners, during their sharing time, thanked the Lord through CFCFFL for His goodness.
Let us be instruments of God’s goodness. Others are waiting for our help.
