Work With the Poor

The Couples for Christ Foundation, Inc. and Habitat for Humanity Philippines (HfHP) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation last Friday, Aug.8, 2008 at the BPI Executive Lounge in Makati. The MOC formalizes a partnership in furtherance of the two group’s respective pro-poor programs. HfHP is a Christian group which aims to provide decent homes to the marginalized while CFCFI have its own Work with the Poor (WWP) ministry that is focused on community development and evangelization. .

Under the MOC, Habitat can be called to help in the shelter program of selected Restoration Villages while CFCFI’s WWP will continue to take care of the soft programs such as community life, education, livelihood, health and environment. In the same manner, CFCFI’s WWP can be called to help in selected Habitat-assisted communities in the implementation of soft programs.

Bros. Frank Padilla,  Nonong Contreras and Rene Evidente signed for CFCFI while Messrs. Butch Bautista and Bert Jugo, HfHP Chairman and President respectively, signed for Habitat.

Both Bro. Frank and Mr. Bautista emphasized the Christian aspects of the two organization’s work with the poor and expressed optimism in the knowledge and experience that both organizations bring to the partnership. More Photos
