Bliss Livelihood Program

CFCFFL Chapter Initiates Livelihood Program for Poor Members.

Bro. Bonjie Bonjibod, CFCFFLWWP fulltime worker as one of the speaker.

Last Sept.12, 2009, the CFCFFL chapter at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish, Pasig  District had the initial sessions of their initiative to provide livelihood oppurtunities for their poor members at Bliss Village at Floodway, Pasig City. That day, 25 members attended the Community Organizing and Livelihood Orientation. Sessions on Livelihood Values Education will follow. These sessions are aimed to organize and train their members prior to funding of their individual or group livelihood projects.

The village, with its adjacent poor neighborhoods, is a mission area of  the above mentioned chapter.  Having assessed that their poor members in the area needs help in the form of livelihood funding assistance, their chapter leadership has initiated to raise funds for this purpose. Fund raising started by requesting for cash donations instead of gifts in a birthday party celebration. At the moment, they have some P46k as initial fund and may increase since their other leaders are doing the same in their birthdays.

The idea is to give funding to individual family or group livelihood projects that will be screened as feasible by a team from the chapter leadership. The funding should be repaid by the borrower with a minimal interest to allow other members access to funding. Making this a cooperative is part of the plan. This is a novel initiative which should be supported. The CFCFFL Livelihood & WWP ministries are helping the chapter in organizing and training the member-beneficiaries.
