Blessing of 1st Brick House and Road

ICVM, Pandi Bulacan.

The Immaculate Conception Mission Village at Pandi, Bulacan had the blessing of its first brick house and its newly cemented road last Oct. 18, 2009. Rev. Fr. Rey San Juan, parish priest of Sto. Cristo at Pandi officiated the blessing of both structures.

In the ceremonies, Fr. Rey stressed that the blessing of the family should come first. He said no amount of holy water can bless the house if the occupants are not living according to God’s plan for the family. This affirms the thrust of CFC-FFL  Work With the Poor of transforming the family first before building the physical structures. The 1st beneficiary, Sis. Mila Brigino,  is a HFL member with 8 children. Her new house is a model unit in the use of interlocking brick technology which WWP is exploring for use in other WWP villages. The construction of the second brick house in the same will be started soon. The construction of these 2 houses were made possible through anonymous donors.

In the same afternoon, a newly paved road was also blessed.  The project was undertaken through the support of Congressman Pedro Pancho as part of the development of the whole  village. The road, once muddy, leads to the common area of the village where ICMV will have its community center (multipurpose hall & pre-school).

CFCFFL brethren from Maryland USA have provided for the construction of the classroom while CFCFFL brethren from Missisauga Canada are supporting the pre-school operation. >For more photos<
