GREAT BALLS OF LOVE

The Coronado Lanes in the StarMall Complex, came to life on the sleepy Sunday afternoon of June 14, 2009. CFC-FFL brothers and sisters from the various districts of Metro Manila and nearby provinces trickled in slowly but steadily between 12:30 to 1:15 P.M to participate, cheer, and watch the very first CFC-FFL WWP Bowling Fellowship.

Straight away, one can spot from among the arrivals those who take the game seriously by the telltale bowling bags they carry. More serious are those who carry bags that can contain two balls – something not seen many, many years ago. On the other hand, there were those who carry nothing but themselves. These are the  kibitzers or occasional players who are game enough to be made fun of in the tournament.

In all, there were a total of 74 players constituting 15 five-member teams coming from the districts of Antipolo, Cavite, Laguna, Paranaque, Pasig ,Manila, and Novaliches. There were three women’s team and twelve men’s team. At the end of three hours the following results were announced:

2nd- Lito Jorge - San Antonio de Padua/OLA, Paranaque

The net proceeds from the tournament was P 11,260.80. It has been donated to our Work-with-the-Poor (WWP) for projects in Restoration Villages and Mission Villages.
